When is the 2019 Film Librarians Conference? Where is it located?

How many sessions will be at the conference this year?

There will be eleven sessions over two days followed by a day of tours. Learn more.

 

When can I register for the conference? 

Online early bird registration is scheduled to open on March 4 with regular registration beginning on April 20 through the start of the conference. On site registration will also be available at a higher rate.

 

What are the registration fees for the conference?

Are there registration discounts for conference panelists or students?

Yes, panelists get free registration on the day of their talk. The discounted student rate is $100 for full conference and $50 for single day conference with proof of current enrollment.

 

Is there funding available to help with travel/registration costs? 

Yes, but the deadline closed. Here is the list of recipients of this year’s awards.

 

What is the cancellation policy for conference registration?

Written requests for cancellations must be received by May 8, 2019, and are subject to a $30 processing fee. Cancellations received after May 8, 2019, will NOT be honored and all registration fees will be forfeited.  For refund information please contact: flc.registration@oscars.org

 

What meals are included in the registration rate?

Continental breakfast, lunch and an evening reception both days of the conference.

 

What special events will take place during the conference?

There will be a special screening with a reception each evening after the final session of the day, and there will also be two different tours available on Friday. Tours require a reservation and additional fees.

 

Can I purchase a ticket for a tour without attending the conference?

No, the tours are only for conference attendees. Transportation and lunch are included cost of the tour. Learn more.

 

How can I reserve a hotel room, and what are the rates?

Will there be parking available at the conference?

There is no parking available at the Pickford Center. For those driving, there is convenient parking available at the ArcLight Hollywood Cinema (6360 W. Sunset Blvd.), located just one block from Pickford. Entrances to the garage are on Ivar Ave. between Sunset Blvd. and DeLongpre Ave. and on DeLongpre between Ivar Ave. and Vine St. The rate is $14/day.

The Pickford Center is an easy 10-minute walk from the Metro. Take the Metro Red Line to the Hollywood and Vine Station, head west on Hollywood and make a left on Vine St.

Will the conference be recorded or live streamed?

The conference will not be live streamed or recorded for public access. However, all conference attendees need to be aware there will be video recording and photography for the Academy’s archival and publicity purposes. Conference attendees give consent to being recorded in their acceptance of registration.
